Moving to a New Server

In 2023, MT43News moved from the Open Vistas server to another server setup by the manager of the Open Vistas server. Basically we were evicted. However, he did do the setup we needed for the new server. Over the years we have had several problems -- the most severe was the email system. It NEVER worked properly.  I had created an setup a backup server on A2Hosting.com - since acquired by Hosting.com.  I set up the email on the Hosting.com system and our email problems went away.

However, on June 2 (the day I had a heart surgery) the server we have been using since 2023 quit renewing our DNS certificates. The guy who set it up had a duplicate DNS on the Open Vistas and it suddenly quit accepting connections. So, the renewal of the certs was failing.

On June 3 I decided the time had come to completely abandon that server and switch to our backup server on Hosting.com.  The switch over was relatively easy with only a few minor problems to overcome. I was able to do the swap in about 12 hours. Most of that time was downloading the entire 13gb file system and uploading it to the new server using a hotel connection.

We have been using the Hosting.com server for over a month with no problems.
